When it comes to establishing good study habits for the new school year, don’t underestimate the importance of a dedicated space. After all, a reliable work area sets the tone and stage for homework and test prep all year round!
To create a space for budding genius – even when you don’t have much room – start with a soft area rug and an empty corner. Add a work table and storage to house books, papers and school supplies. Then give the space a little life with live plants. The natural element eases stress and creates a more enjoyable area.
In our study corner, we played with several different rugs to create different looks. Below, you’ll see the space with our Cotton Tail Solid White area rug. The plush pile and soft texture of this rug creates an unbelievably cozy space that doubles as a space for leisure reading. Of course, the bright tone keeps the room feeling delightfully light and airy even with a thick, plush, substantial selection from the Cotton Tail collection.
In keeping with the light and airy feel, we also used the Flora Bora area rug from the SoCal Living by Jennifer Adams collection. The unique high-low texture of this rug gives the pattern a 3D effect for visual appeal sure to inspire childlike imagination. Plus, the easy-to-clean nature of this rug makes it a wonderful piece for busy spaces. Rugs in the SoCal Living by Jennifer Adams collection have no jute in the backing, meaning you can spot treat and clean without worry.
For a more detailed style to support future PhDs, the Paisley Points area rug in white features a delightfully light pattern to keep the vibe fresh. The Paisley Points area rug comes from our Adagio collection, which offers contemporary and transitional patterns in colors relevant to modern living.
Likewise, the Persia area rug maintains the light look with more robust detailing. This rug is from our Aria collection which offers a contemporary execution of more traditional patterns and schemes. Add a soft hand and durable construction and any rug from the Aria collection makes a wonderful addition to any room in the home.
With the right area rug and a little effort, it’s easy to create a light, bright study space that inspires hard work, dedication and imagination from valedictorians-in-the-making.
